Erik Eck (this is the name of the kiter) was suddenly launched in the air at his local kite spot in Hawaii, reaching a record high of 50 meters and somehow landed a 150 meters further. The combination between the thermal wind and the lack of depower of this old kite was potentially deadly. But not for him, as apparently he did not even break a bone (but I guess a few scratches for sure).
